BIG RED DOG’S bright new website shows off entrepreneurial spirit

Big Red Dog (Austin, TX), the 100+ person, civil, MEP, structural, and traffic engineering firm, won second place in Zweig Group’s Marketing Excellence Awards, in the website category. Big Red Dog launched a new website to coincide with a “BIG company restructure.” Reflecting the dynamism found within their entrepreneurial spirit, Big Red Dog (BRD) crafted a website that engages the visitor as soon as they arrive on-site and carries them through the BRD story and to the “four engineering services lines” in “8 client-facing markets.” BRD noted that they wanted to establish themselves as thought leaders and technology leaders in the industry, and they accomplished both of these goals. To build up their already stellar reputation as knowledgable industry experts, BRD began to regularly publish technical blog posts that provide valuable knowledge to other industry players and to consumers-at-large, positioning BRD “industry wide as the go-to source for information on consulting engineering topics, municipal and state regulations, and land and site development information.” To showcase their technological expertise while flexing their creative muscles, BRD implemented drone footage of their various examples “of each market product type (multi-family, commercial, hospitality, education, public infrastructure, etc.).” The website continues to engage viewers with video (which is an effective website tool across all industries and website types), as most major pages on the site have a video reflecting the purpose of that page. For example, the “Careers” page shows the friendly, inviting culture of the company through a video showing interactions between employees in the office and out at project sites. Lastly, BRD demonstrated their ability to stay ahead of the curve by deploying consistent and effective use of social media, on the major platforms relevant to the AEC industry. The AEC industry is far behind on proper social media usage, so seeing them not only use social media well (BRD also ranked #3 in the Social Media category for the Marketing Excellence Award) but also seeing them integrate their social media accounts into their website was a treat.
