In this podcast episode, Randy Wilburn sits with Mark Hodges, chief growth officer of Edafio, to discuss how design firms can better protect their data from cybercriminals. Mark has a long history in television, marketing, and data companies and now focuses on protecting businesses and their data from cybercrime.

Mark speaks about the need for design firms to be aware of the risks posed by cybercriminals and how to protect their data best. Mark says data is like crude oil and has utility even before it is refined and that humans often fall into similar patterns when it comes to cybersecurity. According to Mark, cybercriminals could be located in any part of the world and can access thousands of places in milliseconds. He emphasizes the importance of having a security plan to minimize the effects of a breach and for everyone to know what their parts are and how to respond and protect customers.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

  1. IT and Cybersecurity: Discover the steps design firms need to take to protect their data and secure their infrastructure.
  2. Data as Utility: Explore how data can be weaponized and used for nefarious purposes.
  3. Exponential Crime: Learn about the exponential nature of digital crime and the importance of physical and digital security.
