Engineering, program management, and construction management firm Global Engineering Solutions
has joined Salas O’Brien
, a 100 percent employee-owned engineering, facility planning, and commissioning firm. The combined firm has 33 offices with more than 800 team members, 180 registered professionals, and clients including the most significant companies, institutions, and government agencies in the United States.
Zweig Group, a full-service AEC management advisory firm, represented selling firm GES in this transaction. Phil Keil
, Zweig Group’s director of strategic services, served as the firm’s lead advisor on the engagement.
“As a cultural match, GES and Salas O’Brien are a great fit,” Keil said. “As excited as I am about the additional capabilities and resources that are being added through this merger for Salas O’Brien, I’m probably more enthusiastic about the growth potential and opportunity it provides the team from GES. Overall, this is excellent news for both firms and I’m happy that Zweig Group could play a part in helping these two firms join with one another to pursue their combined vision for the future.”
GES will continue to be managed locally by its current leaders and will adopt the Salas O’Brien name after a transition period. GES and its affiliated office in the Washington, D.C., region, represent Salas O’Brien’s first expansion to the Mid-Atlantic and add a team focused on delivering technical excellence in engineering, program management, and construction management. Through combined experience and resources, the merger is expected to create opportunities to better serve GES clients in sectors including healthcare, science and technology, education, commercial, and more.
“Salas O’Brien and Global Engineering Solutions have so much in common,” said Essi Najafi, GES managing principal. “The increased scale that Salas O’Brien offers will help us serve our clients better than ever, and our team will certainly benefit from almost limitless opportunities for growth while staying true to our roots and values. We’re thrilled to be joining the team.”
